As Lower Austria’s young gallery for contemporary art, ZEIT KUNST NIEDERÖSTERREICH combines the presentation of monographic exhibitions with ambitious publications on the production of artists who live in Lower Austria or are closely connected with the province.

With the objective of shedding light on outstanding artists’ positions and doing sustainable work for Austrian contemporary art, the institution opened its doors at two venues in 2012.

With the constructional adaptation of the medieval Dominican Church in the center of Krems and of the Shedhalle, which was built by Hans Hollein and is part of the Museum of Lower Austria in St Pölten, ZEIT KUNST NIEDERÖSTERREICH is able to offer both artists and visitors attractive exhibition spaces making the encounter with contemporary art a source of inspiration and irritation.

One exhibition a year will be staged in the Dominican Church in Krems between June and October; in St Pölten there will be three solo exhibitions.
