AIR artist-in-residence

The studio flats of AIR – ARTIST IN RESIDENCE in Krems serve to promote international cultural exchange. The interdisciplinary scholarship programme gives participants from the fields of architecture, fine art, music and literature the opportunity to live and work in Lower Austria and to get to know the various cultural institutions. In return, European and overseas residencies are organised for Lower Austrian artists. Every year a total of 50 scholarship holders are invited to Krems. Events such as exhibitions, readings, concerts and participation in festivals in cooperation with various Lower Austrian and Vienna art and cultural institutions aim at a long-term anchoring of AIR – ARTIST IN RESIDENCE projects in their annual programmes and in this way to integrate the scholarship holders in the domestic art and artists’ scene.
